Description
Hatem M’Henni is Professor of Economics at the High School of Commerce of Tunis. Professor Hatem overarching research and teaching interests are about the economic and social impacts of ICTs, dynamics of Euro-Mediterranean integration, S&T indicators and innovation policy. He was the principal councilor of the Tunisian Minister of scientific research and technology in matter of S&T planning (June 2004-January 2007) and the former general manager of the Tunisian National Observatory of Sciences and Technology (January 2007-March 2009). He has also served as consultant, faculty member or scientific advisor to several international institutions, among them the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (ASTII, NEPAD-AU). He also participates in the main Euro-Mediterranean S&T projects: Evaluation of Scientific and Technological capabilities in Mediterranean countries (ESTIME), Innovation Foresight for MEDA Partners in the European Research Area (INNFORMED), Network for Evidence-Based Innovation Policy (NEBIP -Medibtikar), Mediterranean Innovation and Research Co-ordination Action (MIRA) and Erawatch as national expert for Tunisia. Hatem M’HENNI is member of the Advisory Steering Committee of the Center for Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (CESTII) in South Africa, the Technical Group of the African Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation (AOSTI) in Equatorial Guinea, the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Arab League for Culture and Science Organization (ALECSO) and some scientific and economic networks; Forum Euro-Mediterranéen des Instituts de Sciences Economiques (FEMISE), International Research Network (GDRI) of the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) Development of Euro-Mediterranean Economic Research (DREEM). He published several articles in academic journals.
